Value Values & Mirror Magic

Cultivating a Culture of Self-Reflection

This workshop may be conducted in two 45- to 60-minute sessions, either back to back or split apart, for a total of 90-120 minutes. It may also be extended for deeper collaborative values conversation and team connection-building, such as in a strategic planning retreat.

Objective: To accurately identify a person’s values, engage their psychological responsiveness to self-reflect on those values in relation to their current and future behavior choices, and equip them with tools that subtly and effectively reorient their daily awareness to those values, reducing future instances of making behavioral decisions that conflict with their deeply held internal values.

Value Values

Part I

This 45-60 minute workshop exercise opens people up to exploring and naming their deeply-held personal values and what really, authentically constitutes their integrity.

Mirror Magic

Part II

This 45-60 minute, creative, fun activity leads participants through a hands-on craft activity to affirm their own personal, ethical values in a way that reduces “cheating” in its myriad forms, including social loafing and other values-contradictory behavior choices.

The Nerdy Stuff

Why This Scientifically Works

If you don’t need to know how the magic works, I really encourage you to just enjoy the magic. But if you do, there’s more science to my work than art. I spell it all out for interested clients with a charmingly nerdy research paper containing ample citations and even more big words.

Caution: This research paper contains facts which could cause you to feel discomfort, much like learning how many bacterial microbes are alive on the towel you re-use a few times before washing it. Facts are facts. Enjoy the magic.
